Suri Alpacas

Vivians first! Ludwig has his moms curiosity and is the freindliest cria we have had in several years. With fine, well locked medium fawn fleece, he is an other great cria form our own Brander. He along with his half brother Otis have enjoyed the summer running around and exploring the pastures.

Otis, sired by our Brander and Jillian of ATV is a True Black. A stunning young little guy he has some serious fleece on him! Not as outgoing as his classmate and brother Ludwig, he like to follow rather than lead. Otis certainly is a noisily one insisting on announcing his presence constantly with a variety of honks and grunts. Definitely a ranch favorite and one to watch.

Jillian is one of our favorite foundation females. Having provided us with two fine cria so far, Slate a light silver gray and Clint a true black, we are sure she will provide many more. She is an easy birther, has great milk and is a very attentive mother. For a black, her fleece is fine, uniform and has nice luster. Just as important, she has a wonderful temperament, gentle, calm and just easy going. We have found that this is a trait that is pasted on; nasty dame, nasty cria. We strive to breed friendly alpacas and Jillian certainly fits our breeding model.

Marshmallow is the ranch clown! She is the favorite of all who come to visit. She is one of the VERY few alpacas who actually enjoy being petted and handled by people. Even strangers! For the most part this trait has past on to her offspring. Wilbur, her 2018 cria is definitely taking after her. Sadly, once she is pregnant, she becomes aloof and her personality changes until after the cria is born, at which time the sweet girl returns. Her fleece is among the finest we have on the ranch with good luster and uniformity, this too she has passed onto all her offspring.

Gracella is a beautiful foundation female. She is a Montoyo daughter out of Mystere Jax with a pedigree that includes Ramilo, Renzo, Fine Threads Jax with plenty of colored genetics in the mix. She has awesome conformation, excellent luster and lock and a very pretty head. Her offspring have been beautiful as well with the same consistent lock and luster and density passed on by their mother. Gracella’s 2020 EPD’s prove what an outstanding foundation female she is at the age of eleven, ranking her in the top 10% and 15% for several traits.

Shelton is a spirited young female that has carried on the strong characteristics that you would expect of COLOR CHAMPION Bloodlines. On Shelton's dam's side Shiraz of PVA is a proven COLOR CHAMPION making her a 4th Generation COLOR CHAMPION. Her Grand Dam Syrah of PVA is a SUPREME CHAMPION (3rd Generation COLOR CHAMPION). Shelton's sire WP's Captains Rasta Man is also a proven COLOR CHAMPION with CHAMPION Bloodlines. Her Grand Sire is the well-known Captain Morgan.

Delta is a sweet young female who is now proven! Delta was bred to Leisure Ranch's Brander and she produced a beautiful medium fawn female, Bridget. She comes from great genetics with champions on both sides and is sure to pass them on to her offspring. She is a "medium" sized alpaca whose fleece is fine and lustrous for a black. We are excited to see how she how she does in the future.

Moon sports a fine fleece that shows lots of luster, uniform and has a cool handle. She is a large female with a great temperament and is part of our current breeding program. In 2019 she gave us Vivian who is a ranch favorite and has great potential, showing fine fleece that is dense, uniform and very lustrous. Summer 2020's cria, from Jet Black, was named Bandit. He is a beautiful bay black to dark brown with black highlights on his nose and ears. and looks very much like Moon. Summer 2024 she has yet again delivered with a gorgeous bay black /dark brown female cria we named Mildred. Again sired by Jet Black.

Walter is the second cria we had from Delta. He is still one of the friendliest cria we have ever had at the ranch. Walter is growing into an outgoing, curious and young male. He is very vocal, often calling back and forth with another alpaca somewhere in the barn. His fleece is dense and fine with tight locks. He shows nice luster as well as great conformation. This guy has a lot of fleece on him and his regrowth is outstanding. He is another one we are excited to keep an eye on as he matures.

Hank was the first of 2019's cria. A Royal Flush son, and as such he has exceptionally long fleece that is forming nice locks. He has a calm personality and is one of those that kind of just blends in with the herd. His fleece is fine, cool to the touch and has nice luster too. His conformation looks great. He is one to keep an eye on as he matures.

Clint is a calm, gentle and very independent young male. His fleece is dense, fine and shows lots of luster. He is showing lots of potential. We look forward to seeing how he matures.

Cooper's dame is Alita and is sired by Nik Nak. As a result he has dense, fine white fleece that is naturally locked and uniform. He is has one of the whitest fleeces we have seen. He certainly did inherit some of his sires density and all of his dames gentleness and curiosity. He has proven to be a real character. Cooper continues to be a ranch favorite. He is growing nicely and starting to fill out. This year will be his first for fiber samples. He is one to watch.

Chadwick was the first of 2022's cria. Fawna delivered again with this young male sired by Jet Black. His fleece is dense with nice luster in bay black. All of Jet Black's cria have been very well tempered and friendly. Chadwick is no exception and is one of the friendliest cria we have had is years. This little guy has no fear and takes every opportunity to check a gate and help himself right out if its not latched. He knows were the good hay is and is always trying to get to it, even if it means getting his head scratched or allowing us to pick his fleece a little. He is kind of a loner, although Alvin is very attached and the two are usually together.

Rustler is Marshmallow's third male cria in a row. Sired by our own Fernando, Rustler is a handsome young male who sports a beautiful light blown fleece. Nice lock and luster and the fineness of both mom and dad. He is a curious young guy but prefers to hang out with mom than the other cria. He does join them in the creep feeder but it took a while before he was comfortable doing so. He is the largest cria of the last season and is shaping up to be one to watch.

Alvin is the second cria from Delta. Sired by Wilbur he is a spry young guy. He has a beautiful dense golden brown fleece with a unique white patch over one eye, the front of his head and a portion of his snout. He is buds with Chadwick and the two of them can usually be found together in the creep or pestering Rustler. Alvin has good conformation and a gentle, relaxed temperament but holds his own at feeding.

Always a head turner at the Ranch ! While most Grey alpacas fleece feels noticeably course, Slate has dense, fine fleece which is cool to the touch and soft. He is a bit on the smaller side for a male due to his genetics, he did however, inherit his dams calm gentle personality. He is a social young male and always looks out for his younger, more insecure buddy, Capt Bruce.

Brander is a nice young male with very fine soft fleece that shows lots of luster and nice locks. He is a large male with good conformation and regrowth. The great genetics from both sides shows. He is gentle but not as outgoing as his dame, Marshmallow. He is named after a good friend of Pete, who is a legendary fisherman/diver in his home town of Santa Barbara. Brander sired his first cria, Bridget in 2021, followed by Otis and Ludwig in June 2024.

Jet Black (JB) is a fine large True Black alpaca with a great personality sporting fine fleece with nice luster . As the only dark alpaca in the male barn, JB is often by himself walking the fence line watching towards the females barn. He likes attention and will generally come to the fence when you call him. We have two of his cria on the ground, a Black male named Bandit, a fine dark brown female, Libby in 2021. He has the same strong well put together presence that is sire has and inherited the luster and fineness along with nice uniformity. He will be bred again in summer 2021.

Wilbur is a real character! The youngest of 2019's cria, he definitely has his dames friendly outgoing personality. Along with his half sister Eva, he is the clown of the barn. His fleece is fine, lustrous and is one of the densest male we have had, thanks to his sire Nik Nak. He shows great conformation, regrowth and temperament. Truly a handsome young guy! Wilbur has sired his first cria, Alvin, in 2022 bred to Delta. Sadly we lost his sister Eva at one year old. He continues to be a barn favorite for all who visit.

Vivian is Blooh Moon's second cria and a Royal Flush Daughter. So far she is the only cria we have at the ranch who was born at night! She is a curious girl, stubborn and very independent. Often we have to fetch her in from the pasture long after all the others have gone into the barn. Evan at three years old she particularly enjoys eating all the soft little bits of hay scattered around the barn and is often found doing so. Her fleece is fine, very soft and cool to the touch. She is showing lots of luster from both mom and dad, and definitely has Royals head shape and look. She has great conformation. Another female we look forward to having in our breeding program.

Yolanda was the first of 2020's cria! She is a big strong girl from Alpaca Roses Madison and our own Royal Flush. Her fleece is dense with locks and shows lots of luster. She is an independent female and often chooses to feed on her own with mom or with younger sister Libby. The three of them often hang out together Yolanda had some of the longest locks in the herd. Yolonda has grown into a very friendly female. She will often eat out of visitors hands. Her fleece is dense, fine, with a cool handle, nice luster and has some locks . She has her sires conformation. We like the larger females and Yolanda certainly is one. She will be bred in the next year or two.

Beautiful naturally kinked fleece that is dense and fine, Florence is one of two outstanding 2020 females from Royal Flush. Her light brown fleece is a welcome first for us. She has the same calm temperament as her Dame Jillian. She has a gentle, friendly personality and is growing into another fine female.

Hester is a beautiful young female from This is Ruthie and sired by the late Armani's Giorgio. She has fine, lustrous mahogany brown fleece with a black nose. A bit shy in the past, now that she is weaned Hester is holding her own with the big girls. Nice conformation and lots of fleece, and her fun nature make Hester one to watch as she matures.

Libby was born on the fourth of July 2021. Sired by Jet Black, Madison has given us a second female in a row. Libby is hard to miss! She is one of the those rare alpacas that likes peoples attention. At weaning in March 2022 she was already almost as big as her dame. She will fill out this season and be ready to breed next year. Libby has fine medium brown fleece that is fairly dense and lustrous with nice locks. She has her sires curiosity and good temperament for sure, and is not afraid to come right up to you.

Wow another nice fawn female this one from Delta. Bridget is one dense young female with nice luster and uniformity. Still growing she has beautiful conformation, a very curious nature and stills enjoys running with her friend Libby. This last season Bridget played the self appointed role of auntie, constantly looking after first Chadwick then Rustler while out in the pastures. She will make a fine breeding female in another year or so.
